Baby Shower Gift Ideas

I thought I'd take a few minutes to give you some baby shower gift ideas. I always feel a little awkward at them because I don't have kids, so I am never sure if I am getting a person the right gifts. Although I shouldn't be too hard on myself because my gifts turn out okay (but when my cat took a stuffed Pooh hostage and kept trying to attack it, I had my doubts!)...

Anyway, to help myself and to help other people like me, I decided to come up with my best suggestions. These are things I've done that have gone over well.

If you have crafty skills, crochet or knit a blanket for the baby. They don't care if the pattern is fancy - they just like fuzzy yarn in a fun color. I bought this soft and plushy yarn and made a blanket for my nephew, and he promptly became obsessed with the blanket to the point where he wouldn't go anywhere without it.

At a loss? Ever new mom needs diapers. Don't get the newborn size - some babies are already born too big. Get the next size up. Kids go through diapers like it's nobody's business.

Getting mom something is another good idea. I like to buy bath sets for mom (and also another set for baby). These are products that never go out of fashion and I always try to make my picks eco friendly.

Of course, you could always buy something from their gift registry.

Save Money for College When You Buy Things

As I was sitting on the shuttle bus from the San Diego airport to the Avis rental car place, I noticed a sign advertising a program called Upromise, where you can save money for college based on your purchases.

When you purchase something from a company who is part of the program, such as BestBuy.com, you get a certain percentage back to go towards your college education. So all you need to do is use your credit card, and anything that is eligible will go straight to your Upromise account.

I love it when I find an ebook that I actually use and make money from. I purchased an ebook a little while ago called Cash Paydays for Writers because I had heard good things about it. The author, Lou Roggio, spent a lot of time researching various sites to make money writing.

I've been a freelance writer for several years now. One thing I've learned that it can be hard to find quality assignments. My main source of income is to make money writing articles online. There are several sources mentioned that help me do just that.

I make a living as a freelance writer. One of my favorite ways to make money is through Associated Content. I've had a lot of experience writing website content and articles for my clients.
