Baby Shower Gift Ideas

I thought I'd take a few minutes to give you some baby shower gift ideas. I always feel a little awkward at them because I don't have kids, so I am never sure if I am getting a person the right gifts. Although I shouldn't be too hard on myself because my gifts turn out okay (but when my cat took a stuffed Pooh hostage and kept trying to attack it, I had my doubts!)...


Anyway, to help myself and to help other people like me, I decided to come up with my best suggestions. These are things I've done that have gone over well.

• If you have crafty skills, crochet or knit a blanket for the baby. They don't care if the pattern is fancy - they just like fuzzy yarn in a fun color. I bought this soft and plushy yarn and made a blanket for my nephew, and he promptly became obsessed with the blanket to the point where he wouldn't go anywhere without it.

• At a loss? Ever new mom needs diapers. Don't get the newborn size - some babies are already born too big. Get the next size up. Kids go through diapers like it's nobody's business.

• Getting mom something is another good idea. I like to buy bath sets for mom (and also another set for baby). These are products that never go out of fashion and I always try to make my picks eco friendly.

• Of course, you could always buy something from their gift registry.
